Truck Overturns in Bridge, Hitting Vehicles and Injuring 13

PHNOM PENH: A dump truck came down from the old Monivong Bridge with the brakes broken, hitting several vehicles and injuring many people. This incident happened at 2:30 pm Thursday, under the flyover at the head of the road in front of the PTT gas station, Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.

According to the driver who was detained by the police, while he was driving down from the bridge, the car suddenly braked and hit the gear to stop the speed, while he tried to stop the car and the steering wheel. Still unable to hold on, he crashed into motorcycles and other vehicles along the road.

Immediately after the incident, the traffic police, who were standing at the above target, called an ambulance to take the victim to the emergency room and ease the congestion as well as removing all dangerous means of transportation.

The Office of Road Traffic Police in Phnom Penh has sent the case for legal procedures while its waiting for its resolution.
